Well another year over and another one about to begin! It's only taken me 5 months to write a blog post, not a bad effort ey?
What a year we have had at All Propped Up - Weddings, Baby showers, 1st birthdays and so much more!
I am so thankful for all of your support and really appreciate all the love we have had in 2012!

This year I have also been planning my own wedding which has added to the chaos and on that note I would like to thank my Fiance, I could not have done all this with out you, you are the bestest and I love you to pieces!

So, what are your plans for the festive season? We are traveling between families on Chrissy day but hope to be resting at night with our feet up - and some sort of festive drink in my hand would be nice!

Some important news: we will be closed from 21/12/12 - 7/1/13. Please feel free to still email but you won't get a response until after the 7th January.

Wishing you and your families a very safe and happy Christmas and New Years!
Thanks again!

{Event of the Week} Vintage themed ideas

For those of you not familiar with the T.V show Mad Men, get on it now, you're missing out! For those that are, how cute is this themed Sterling Cooper cocktail party? I can't believe how much detail was put into this night, amazing!

Loved this idea of re-creating props from the show. This bulletin board was featured in the episode Peggy was trying to find a room mate, her notice read: “Fun-loving girl, responsible sometimes. Likes to laugh, lives to love seeks size six for city living and general gallivanting. No dull moments or dull men tolerated.”

Candy cigarettes, the perfect prop for a Mad Men party!

Fun, original game that relates back to the shows theme : advertising.

What a great idea for a hen's day or cocktail night. To encourage others to dress up why not offer a best dressed prize? Other good ideas with a vintage theme:

Vintage inspired morning/ afternoon tea. Games could include tea taste testing and then guessing from a list of teas which one you think it is or a vintage fashion best dressed - or best hat?!

Vintage inspired BBQ / Picnic at home. Games could include Ring toss, croquet, or Bocce. I'm imagining vintage picnic baskets and esky's filled with ice and mini cold glass bottle cokes!

...and lastly if you love to cook, why not host a dinner the way it used to be done? Invite friends to bring a dish if that makes it easier. If your friends are foodies too, why not give them an old fashioned recipe to make and you can discuss how it all went over a glass of wine on the night! Charades was also a popular game back in the day at dinner party's.  Think formal / Black tie vintage style!

{Inspiration} Unique Reception Venues

I hope you will forgive me for the lack of posts, it seems I've found myself of late getting caught up in my own wedding whirlwind!  Every now and again I pick up where I left off organising our wedding and everytime I do I realise how much closer the original date we had in mind is creeping up on us! Eeep!

We thought we had secured a booking for our reception but due to unforseen circumstances, I changed my mind. This got me thinking, what are some unique places to get married? I came across some great ideas searching the net and here's what I found...

{Event of the Week} Baby Shower

Its been a busy few weeks at All Propped Up, things are really cruising along nicely and I'm super thrilled the word is getting out about us! I was lucky enough to attend a gorgeous baby shower on the weekend and had so much fun! The special couple know they are having a baby girl so the theme was pink, white and yellow and everything looked amazing. The Mama and Papa to be live in a beautiful old weatherboard home with an extra large back yard, which was the perfect setting for their little daughter's baby shower.

Pale pink roses, Silver suade, Chrysanthemums, Statice, Snap Dragons and Astors made up these pretty bouquets.
Notice any of our products? Large vintage Fowler's Jars were used as vases and our rustic cafe style blackboard (above) was used to explain the baby shower games!
