{ Inspiration }

Today's inspiration comes from a wonderful photographer named Sarah, her Etsy store, 'a very Story', sells these beautiful photographic prints below..

Some great ideas here you can shelve for your own event like using cute jam jars (labels removed of course!) as drinking glasses, old suitcases and picnic baskets opened up for displaying props or collecting things like cards at an engagement or wedding or piling books on top of each other randomly is a great way to acheive different height levels on a table for displaying items.

Assorted new and vintage glass Jugs and glass Decanters now available for hire.

Decanters are a gorgeous way to 'pretty up' your bar or tables, fill with different cocktails or use as a stylish way to serve soft drink at your next event.

{ Wedding of the Week }

This week's 'Wedding of the Week' goes to the lovely Alison and Chris in Washington, for their amazing and unique theme..

 Colourful garland made up of Alison's winning ribbons in horseback riding and
vintage flags and monogram patches found through ebay.

 A beautiful large vintage map was used as the backdrop for their photo's at the reception.
 Love the use of the vintage suitcases and Silver Trays, the scattered postcards
and photos add to the overall look.

Alison and Chris first met at Georgetown University and stayed true to their D.C. school with a "vintage collegiate" theme honoring their college sweetheart beginnings and the place where it all began..

This week I found some great wooden trays; perfect for elevating cakes and sweets up from the table and these retro plastic sugar canisters; great for holding tea, coffee and sugar or fill with sweets / after dinner mints for your candy table?!

{ Events of the Week }

 Assorted Vintage plates and cups stacked up works well for displaying cupcakes and sweets..

 Fill water bottles with fancy sweet drinks and serve to your guests..

Yellow is my favourite colour! This is a wonderful outdoor set up, the blackboard displaying the sweets menu is also a great idea! Oooh look at the tag, I got invited and didn't realise! :)

{ Wedding of the Week }

Heather and Aaron's Orfila Winery Wedding:

Love the use of the vintage duck egg blue typewriter for messages

Now that's a back drop!

A mix of colourful field flowers grouped in vintage jars makes the table look sweet and summery

"I loved Aaron’s proposal. It was a modern-day treasure hunt that included games (my all-time favorite pastime!), some of our dearest friends, a coffee shop, three of the best parks in San Diego, Aaron’s favorite bottle of wine and a Polaroid camera. Five hours later I had the best treasure of all – my future husband." -Heather (bride)

Introduction

Welcome!

Everything other people see as junk...I see as resourceful.

My old man calls it hoarding, I call it salvaging.

Not only that, I feel like I'm doing my bit for the environment. Whatever I can save from landfill and upcycle or make something people need, humbles me greatly.

I operated an online vintage emporium there for a while but after getting engaged to my man, I found there wasn't a lot to choose from when it came to unique or vintage hire.

The thought of buying everything I wanted for my wedding at retail price, sorry, let me re-phrase that, antique prices, was enough to make any bride-to-be nervous about their budget.

So I guess it was only inevitable I would salvage enough unique, vintage, junk style and retro things to be able to build a business and share with everyone as like minded as me, so by all means, enjoy!
