{Inspiration}

I had a date night with my self last night and finally got to watch a movie I've been wanting to see for a while now, 'Julie and Julia' directed by Nora Ephron and based on 2 x true stories. The story of Julia Childs who changed the way women would cook for centuries to come and the story of Julie Powell who found inspiration in and blogged about Child's famous book and her attempt to cook her way through every recipe in 365 days.

Being almost not far off 30 myself, I enjoyed watching someone else (Julie) reflect on their life, compare themselves to where their friends were at in their lives and have the courage to start something new, challenging, exciting and obviously at times, stressful. Watching Julie complete her challenge gave me a renewed confidence and hope for my dreams and future plans (deep I know!) something I was never planning on getting out of a stay-at-home-and-pig-out-because-it's-too-cold outside-DVD-night!

Sometimes I think we all too often sit back hoping things will change, hoping our situation will better because it's easier then to step outside our comfort zone and give things a go. After all, it was Vincent van Gogh that once said, "What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything".

But enough of the deep stuff, for those of you who have seen it, I loved all the vintage french Parisian kitchenware, the clothes, the food stores, the wedding scenes and both Julie and Julia's beautiful dinner parties! And for those of you who havn't seen it, even if you hate cooking, this is a wonderful film that you walk away from feeling uplifted, like you can achieve anything. A must see!
